I am still learning how to use the digital camera I have and the software that came with the camera and, speaking for myself, the way I seem to learn best is the hard way. On the other hand, if one is going to learn about something it is best to learn from the masters and I consider everyone associated with this web site to be more of a master than I am. With that being said let's get to it. An image that appears adequately sized on my 17" monitor is said to be too small by dpchallenge members who view it. Question: If the maximum dimension of an image is 640 pixels then how small can an image be and still be viewable by the majority of dpchallenge members?

Your first 3 entries seem to be sized perfectly and easily viewable. If you current entry is the same then it's fine.

Most people use the Save for Web feature to resize their pictures for the challenges. When viewed on the computer it looks fine. The next concern is calibration of your monitor.

I'd always make the longest side of your image 600 - 640 pixels. How big it looks to everyone else is dependent on their screen resolution.

a 640px x 480px image is always that many pixels in size. depending on the screen resolution of the monitor of a user the image will appear larger or smaller./

for instance my monitor is at 1280x1024 resolution - a 640x480px image only fills about 25% of my screen. not because it's small, but at high resolution.

as said above i would try to resize the images to be as close to 640 on one side as possible. then no one should say that it is too small here.
