I was unable to sleep this morning, so I wandered outside to snap a few pictures in the fog. I think my creative energies run much stronger when I'm sleep deprived, because I came up with a couple of photos that I really, really like. These are all overly compressed, so expect artifacts and some general quality loss, but I'd really appreciate comments and critiques.

First, a simple snap of the fog.. this one's a bit generic, and my least favourite of the lot:

The fog was very, very thick. I had trouble getting the trees even that visible. This next is my second favourite, and is heavily processed for a very digital art look. My reasoning for taking that path is explained on the photo's information:

I'm pretty happy with the result. The photo itself is okay, but it lacked the kick I seem to require when very tired. This next is by far my favourite, although I imagine it'll be the least liked on DPC. I consider it to be quite possibly the most "me" photo I've ever taken - dark, grainy, and a little abstract:

Very fond of the last one. Feedback on any/all of the three would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with you completely. I really like the dewed spider web. The flower really has a nice feel about it. Almost could put that on a wall and enjoy it day in and day out. I'm new to photography, especially editing, and really like the possibilities that editing can bring, even if it turns out to be a little digital art. The first picture is a nice shot of the fog, but not my favorite.

I commented on the web and I also like the flower and the fog is real thick where you live isn't it. Very nice job.

The foggy shot almost looks like North Carolina to me. And yes the fog is really thick there. Very pretty. Great tones as well.

Spider web is amazing... stop sleeping, start shooting.... you loose about 1/3 of your life sleeping :-)
