When reading posts I have been clicking on the poster's profile to get to know some of the members here and their kids (i.e. pics). While doing so tonight I made a comment on a pic that i liked (clubjuggle's as a matter of fact). If you do that will the photographer be notified somehow? Or am I just making a subsequent comment to maintain my typing skills? :)

I had wondered the same thing on several occasions - I do not think they will know about it unless they go back and read through them again.

For now I suggest posting the comment on the vote page (everyone can read it there), and copy/paste the text into a personal message to the photographer.

Since the Favorites section has been put into place, I have been making daily visits to my profile page. And yes, even little old never won a contest me has been picked as a favorite by a few folks. I suggest that everyone make a point to visit their profile page occasionally to see these "after the contest comments". They show up under the most recent comments received section.

I agree with Journey that it is a great way to get to know our fellow members. I also make a point to check out members making interesting or controversial remarks.

In my opinion shortredneck, you are EXACTLY the person this site should be designed for. If a person who may have started out as a raw amatuer with no experience with photography can come here and improve their skills and enjoyment of photography..that is better than any ribbon.

It would give me no small amount of joy to see you win a ribbon. For someone to start out with sincere interest and work to improve and finally win...That would be a good thing and make it worth my time hangin out here.
