I am wondering if an effect that makes edges stand out, kinda like embossing, would likely be ok in Advanced editing.

Examples of entires that did or did not pass validation welcome.

you'd probably be ok if you faded it, used mellow blending modes and/or reduced the transparency of the layer it was on - so that it's hard to put your finger on what the effect is. should not be the first thing you notice.

I would say that if it is prominent to have in impact on the user's interpretation of the image, it is probably going to be considered adding a feature.
