Oh my! I didn't really see it until I looked at the blurred version. Then it jumps at you! This is a perfect example of the eye's fixation on detail. When the detail is removed (blurred) the larger features come into play.
I certainly don't think that this was intentional, they would have to be crazy (or shall I say crazier).

Yes, with the blurred version (LA smog) it's clear. |
