With my X-Ray vision I've seen a little evidence someone is messing with scores...I will remind people it's against the rules to manipulate the scores whether for fun or profit?
For those fretting the ups and downs in the thread, remember that such a posting "might" give your photo away to a person playing with 1's and 10's. Not to mention it feeds the trolls and makes them stronger.

I went down .25 without any change in votes or views...how is that possible? |
Something similar with mine as well.
I think someone is playing with the scores to see the reactions. I also wonder if this happens more on open challenges vs member-only challenges (i.e., open to more voters). |

The swings that seem to be posted about leans towards a group of people rather than a single person. I can't image a single person could make votes swing so wildly. If that's the case it's very upsetting and I'm sure SC will take care of them? |

Actually I had a swing that can't be mathematically explained by one vote. In short, even giving me a 1 couldn't account for the change. The only way to do what happened would be for two or more people
Who previously voted to substantially change their vote. That was subsequently followed by another large change with no change in vote total as well. . Meaning someone else or the same person changed their vote Again. I wonder if some collective herd is playing games? |

It's strange being at 36 votes and still not knowing if I will end a full point higher or lower than my current score. Quite the roller coaster.

A lot of people vote in stages. The go through and give everyone a mid-number (i.e. 5). Then they go back and up their score on the ones they like better, and lower the ones they like less. Then they display the images by score and adjust accordingly. So yes, it is possible for one person to adjust their score several times, dramatically, on the same image. There is no conspiracy. |

I think what is being noticed, though, is that scores are changing by a magnitude too large for one voter's influence, given the total number of votes received. |

That's exactly I experienced. Suppose it could have happened by chance, ie two people dramatically adjusted their vote at the same time. But it happened twice. That's a harder to explain by chance. |

My score is really low on a GREAT photo that meets the challenge. I can't understand why voters are giving me sub 5 votes. ;)

I thought since I sent Cory a 12-pack of Coors Light, he would rig the code to help me out.

After a high of 6.5 early on and a low of 4.5 about 5 votes later, my score with 48 votes seems to have settled in at 5.7x - hovering around my average and that would be fine for this one. Missed me when you commented, though, Anita :( |

ironically my image for fill the frame had me in contention for an ACTUAL prize for a contest here in town. I placed 11th out of over 4000.
That said, my entry here is a cropped selection from that image, because the full image wouldn't meet criteria for filling the frame.
Ah well, if you ever want to know how good you are, just put something up on DPC, you'll quickly realize you're not as good as you hope others think you are ;-) |

I think I accidentally reported a post on my phone. Not even sure which one. Has Slippy posted? If so, just assume it was for him and I meant it. |

Nice job on placing 11th out of 4000. That is impressive regardless of your DPC challenge score. Nice job. |
