I spent quite a while looking at these triptychs of soldier's faces before, during and after their deployment shot by Lalange Snow. It is fascinating to see so many faces change in similar ways. The rest of his port is pretty lovely too. Check them out.

Notice the middle (during deployment) images they all look 5-10 years older. Seems also on the after deployment photos they gain some of their youth back.
A good testament to the stresses of war, and it's effects on our youth.

War can change a man. It is extremely stressful. For one, you never know if today is your last or if your buddy will be killed the following day. Being through 2 deployments and losing several friends, and almost getting hit a few times, I am a different person.
