I've finally joined the tablet world; I have a nice, shiny Nexus 10, 32 Gb model, to play with, wi-fi only. I've just started putting it through its paces, and I'm quite impressed, but I clearly have a lot of catching up to do. So, who uses Android tablets here? What are some killer apps? Secrets, best practices, shortcuts, insider info? Lay it on me! |

Don't go anywhere near Candy Crush. Or Angry Birds, particularly the Star Wars version. You have been warned. |

Great choice.
Google Play Magazines are just amazing on this device, with all that resolution, the fine text can be read at ridiculous sizes.
Google Drive is handy, as is Currents
..
Really, just play with it. Remember to swipe down on the top left for programs, and on the top right for settings.
Any specific questions, you can feel free to ask me. |

First thing I added, practically, after the Kindle Reader to access my extensive Kindle library :-) But what's this Candy Crush? Is it fattening? |

Beware! I warned you! Wickedly addicting. And after you get addicted, they start charging you 99 cents for the next set of puzzles. I've yet to get three stars on all the levels I have so far, so I'm good for awhile longer. Self-limiting. A "life" is generated every thirty minutes to a maximum of five lives. Then after you've lost those five, you have to put it away until you've generated more. |

Seconded. Stay well away from Candy Crush. I've been stuck on level 147 for 2 weeks now. It's soul destroying. |

I'm on level 147. I've never had to pay for a level, but I'm playing on facebook. I can't beat it, though I try every day. |

Level 147... yeah.... I've got soooo close. We're talking 2 or 3 jellies away. It's devastating when a bomb comes down that you can't get rid of.... |

I'll second the Flip Board recommendation.
Step away from the Candy Crush, level 167 will be the death of me. |

Flipboard was what finally pushed me into tablet land; my brother in law was visiting and had it on his ipad, I fell in love. Second thing I got, right after Angry Birds. Off to check out Candy Crush now. And all the other suggestions as well. |

Not quite :-) Penny and I are veterans of match-3 games, and this is a very good one. Now if they'd just have a version of Zuma for android...
ETA: Holy Moses!

You're a Zuma man? Now that's an addiction.
In the utilities section, get yourself the client apps for your cloud storage stuff, dropbox and the rest. |

Yup. Bad addiction... Where's the "Utilities Section"? Is that "Apps"? |

Review of photo-editing apps for phones/tablets at the NY Times -- they say Photoshop "Touch" is $10, Photoshop "Express" is free ... |

I meant, download the apps for whatever you are using for cloud storage - dropbox, sugarsync, etc. You can find them on the store for free.
I found dropbox very useful for picture/videos sharing between devices at home - two laptops, phones, PC and iPad.
