Maybe you should think of a way to completely segregate your TPL activity and votes from those who have opted to not participate. Like, make your activity a side-challenge. Or, have the admin assign specific and particular challenge topics for TPL members only. Or, give us only periodic TPL competitions... with long periods of non-team activity in between. |
Intolerant? Of what?!
Richard, I appreciate that you feel something is going on here, but you haven't actually demonstrated any factual trends.
Show me the data brother, show me the data! |
The only thing that protects the site is the transparency of the data to the SC and Admin. I assume they are doing their job. I trust them to monitor. Until I hear differently, I'll assume they found no evidence of team voting. |
Please take your discussion to another thread, so we can have the original fun thread back. Seriously, thanks. |

Here's the HARD data guys.
YEAR -- AVG HIGH SCORE -- AVG AVG SCORE
2010 7.18 5.47
2011 7.25 5.60
2012 7.35 5.62
2013 7.21 5.55
TPL 7.15 5.58
Now, how can you argue that voting trends are off? Seems like they're perfectly normal - on the low side for the average high score, but on the high side for the average average. |

The STD collection has probably started to affect your brain. |
syphilis will do that. I thought I was passed that stage. Dammit. |
It's probably something new. |

I honestly have no idea why he stopped running the DPL. It was great having our own hidden threads, and having everything so nicely integrated.

I suspect there was a substantial turnover of members and registered users in the past three years.
There was this March?April 2010 thread about the Admin and SC doing their job: Voting Investigation Results & Voting Investigation Followup
I'm not saying anyone is doing anything wrong now. But, I think the SC and Admin will do their job... now and in the future.
btw, I was a team captain in DPL2.

Hahn didn't you sign up for the TPL then withdraw?
No, but thanks. I withdraw my previous application. There was a big thing which happened today and I don't want to be a part of this.
If I'm not mistaken it was Venser that set you off.
Why don't you jump in and join the next TPL. |

Yes, Venser told me he was going to help program the TPL AND he promised to target low votes at my images, since he could.
I didn't join the TPL because I was very ill in January-February. (No one at DPC knew.) |

Vote manipulation? No.
Turning off the power and internet at the homes of our competition? Yes.
Plus, Langdon and I really are besties, and Garry's STD collection is mind-boggling.
:-D

The beauty of threads started by Slippy is that they are off-topic and directionless in the very first post, and are therefore impossible to derail. The proverbial sauced-up, chainsaw-wielding, gorilla-suited, horse-porn-viewing unstoppable force. |

Indeed. Slippy was generous enough to personally provide me with two very unique isolates himself.

Hahn I'm just curious why you would think there would be team voting scandals going on?
Did you see your average score drop during the TPL? Was your usual quality there?
Even if one or even two teams decided to low vote everyone's image in hopes of their teams scoring higher it would only account for a total of 12 votes, which in some cases would only be 10% of the total votes.
I would suggest that you Lighten up and go outside to breathe some fresh mountain air, enjoy life, take some picture's and by God stop hijacking our thread and our attempt to manipulate the communities voting.
Start a new thread to rant in, we've got some serious trash talking to do!! |
