I have a Canon 450D, and the flash is not firing properly, and the photos come out dark. It does the stutter-flash while focusing, and does the TTL preflash, but doesn't do the actual flash when the shutter is open. We've tried it with the internal flash as well as an external flash, and the same result.
Photos without flash work as normal, and are exposed fine.
We've tried cleaning lens contacts, fresh battery, external flash, "Clear all camera settings" from the menu. We've tried manual mode and P mode and green square mode. Still the same results.
Any ideas? |

all mode are going to behave differently.
put the camera in manual and the dial in a setting on the flash manually (no TTl) and just see if the flash fires. |

Gotta know what kind of flash you're using to be much more help than what Mike's already posted. |
