I set my mark to choose to either vote on 100% or 0%, because 100% shows my complete verdict on all of the photos comparing to each other. Now I try to vote on every challenge. Often I vote first and then I get back later to reconsider the votes and comment on photos. I just finished voting on the last photos of hope last night and I am now going through both Nude II and Hope to add some comments.

The comments are what I think most of us appreciate the most on dpc. I don't have time commenting on every single photo in the challenges, but for the last challenges and the next to come I will try to comment on 7% or more of the photos, and not just the best photos. People don't have to be very good in photography to be able to leave a good comment. Often I think the one who adds a comment is learning more from it than the owner of the photo he's commenting on. No matter how you rate the photos, try leaving a comment on them, try to find out why you don't like the photos, why you think they're average or why you like them very much, that is the best way to learn more about photography and the best way to become a better photographer imo, no matter on what stage you are in photography.

Try to add a comment to more photos than you have already done before in average, check out the percentage of comments vs votes in your profile, and set your mark to comment more than that in future challenges, 1-5% more maybe. I am just under 5% and I set my mark to comment on at least 7% of future challenges. If more of us do something like this, I think more of us will become better in photography and more of us will enjoy this site even better when receiving more comments.

Totally agree Arnar, I just started a thread about something similar though not challenge related. I'm lucky and new(ish) here so don't need to do much to ensure my comments made are higher than comments received. I have found that spending a mmoment or two looking at an image probably helps me more than the fotog.

Yes, but on the other hand it's sometimes harder to see what could have improved on your own photographs than others and then a comment from others are highly appreciated.
I think it's ok to have some "great shot", "wow", "very cool shot!" and other short positive comments like that, it's better than not to have a comment. But then it's not the same with "I don't like it" "bad shot" and some negative short comments like that, with comments like that people have to explain why, and then a "negative" comment can become positive one. It should be forbidden to add a short "I don't like it" comment.
