Is it okay to recharge my Nikon D7000 battery when it isn't flat? I'm going to a wedding this afternoon and don't want it to go flat but I believe some batteries don't like to be recharged until they do.

It will be fine, and, your 7000 will be good for around 1200 clicks or more if not using the built in flash and continuous focus.
Have fun!

I've never let mine go dead, usually down to the last mark, then I charge them and like melonMusketeer said I usually get on my 16g card 1200 photos, more if I'm shooting jpg, which I never do much of.

Unlike NiCads and NiMh batteries, LiIon batteries should not be fully discharged. They don't have a memory effect.

Here's an article with 5 good tips about them:

I'm not sure I follow part of that link...

It tells you to discharge to cutoff, then tells you that you can't charge it if it got to cutoff unless you have a special charger...

I'm one of those horrid people who do everything wrong.....I charge 'em when they're down only a bar to "Top 'em off...", or just throw it on the charger for a half hour in the morning while I'm getting ready for work.

I have used nothing but Nikon batteries, shoot a bazillion pictures, and haven't killed one yet since I started my digital path in July of '06.
