I just got a notice today about a gallery here in Chicago with this exhibit that opens later this month: Smoking Kids by Frieke Janssens. Here is some of his work. It is set up but still disturbing (I guess that is the point).

I'm not sure I'd agree... The one with the girl blowing smoke rings def fits the target.... Do some b&w or retro pp and you'd be golden

oh, the image quality and such is not in question...it is shock factor that would set a new record for the number of 1's on this site ...

I am wondering if under advanced rule set you can change the smoke color in photoshop and invert the background or would that be against the rules? I didn't see it done in the other Smoke challenges

consensus requested... a standard smoke photo usually comes out grey/white in color. is it legal to use color gradient filters to colorize the smoke? ... the same kind of filters one might use to "warm" or "cool" the sky in a landscape photo? i realize that the filers use in this way could even lead to a "rainbow" coloring of the smoke.

thoughts?

Yes.

i recall a rather vigorous discussion on "how can this be legal?", with the main point being that you added a "feature" of a rainbow in pp... and was this just a fluke of the SC not issuing a DQ? are there other examples that passed validation out there?
