I do always think the complementary colors of blue and orange are beautiful. He does look like Kincade.
I'll post a really interesting read because I know exactly where this thread is already going. If you know too, check this out. Something to ponder. |

People like pretty pictures. So do I ;)
Maybe try something similar that does not offend you too much but sells. |

Just for the record, I wasn't implying any criticism of Kincade, just stating that the work seems influenced by him. Regarding your link, there's much I agree with there. I'm no fan of cultural elites, and I love Top Chef :-)
Originally posted by Coastal Snobbery: Talking derisively to a limited audience about imagined cultural "masses" existing elsewhere is like any other kind of derisive in-group chatter. The good part is where it bonds you to those who feel like they're inside the circle you're drawing. The bad part is where it pushes, hard, on the people who know they're outside that circle and in fact are being used to define it. We're entering a phase where cultural content is pitched for smaller and smaller audiences, and it's more important than ever to find and value the things that are both good and unifying. Popularity is not quality, but neither, after all, is obscurity. |

Top Chef is about fancy food - until a few years ago fancy food was food for the elite |

He meant to say he likes Paula Dean... ;P What is a more unifying lowest common denominator if not butter?

Top Chef is about food-as-kitsch, gourmet-for-the-masses, chef-as-celebrity: REAL foodies won't have anything to do with it :-) Or is that reverse snobbery? I'm lost, I tell you, lost! |

This is an easy one - real foodies must have everything. So that includes this sort, as well as fried grasshoppers, boiled peanuts, and an attempt to eat every kind of bread on the face of the planet. Or perhaps I'm just an extremest. :) |
