I just switched from Photoshop 6 to Photoshop CS. In Photoshop 6, the scroll wheel on my mouse controlled the zoom in/out. In CS, the wheel controls the scrolling. Where can I adjust it so that the wheel controls the zoom in CS?

Thanks

The scroll wheel controls scrolling if you have not used the wheel to zoom to a larger size. For example if you zoom in with the Navigator or the zoom tool and then use the wheel, the window scrolls. If you want to use the wheel to zoom, zoom out until you can see the whole picture and then use the wheel to zoom in. I hope this helps.

Ctrl + (Zoom in)
Ctrl - (Zoom out)

I find trying to learn some of the shortcuts makes life some much easier.

In 7 the wheel will zoom until it fits to screen, then scroll. If you want it to zoom, just hold down Alt at the same time. Might work in CS too.

I think the most useful shortcut I use is the [ & ] for decreasing, increasing brush size. Works for all including the clone stamp, dodge, burn etc.

crtl + zoom in
ctrl - zoom out
[ decrease brush size

Also, play with the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift keys. Many uses that vary depending on what tool is selected. For example with the selection tools, it will change to add, or subtract part of the current selection. With the paintbrush, you can get the eyedropper tool.
