There are some truly gorgeous shots in this challenge, of very different types. |

+1 Some outstanding ones!
I didn't enter this, I've been told to not hog the top ten, so I will give you more of a chance to win, hehe ;) |

I have trouble discerning your brown ribbon attempts from your blue ribbon attempts. ;-)
Over the very long term at DPC, your average vote cast will be in the same ballpark as your average vote received. It's a karmic justice phenomenon, which may be totally dumbfounding to you. But, it is real. A karmic tendency is a noncongruent affecting variable, neither a form of physical phenomenon nor a way of being aware of something.
In a strange way, you can affect your karmic justice by treating others in the same way you wish to be treated. It's something Buddha knew and Jesus knew... but you have yet to discover in your early years of life. ;-) |

Glad you threw the smiley face so we know you knew this was a load of malarky. |

I have never cast a vote based on who took the image, only by what's presented in the image. I know based on comments others do not.
When it comes to fair and consistent voting, karma shouldn't be involved. They shouldn't even be in the same sentence together.

It is often the case that painful truths emerge first in the form of denial; one needs to create distance from what is painful. |

âEvery human being is the author of his own health or disease.â

The Buddha didnât use language like this at all. And it didnât take much to track down the source as Swami Sivananda (1887 â 1963), who was indeed a Hindu, although he wasnât a prince. He was, Wikipedia tells us, the founder of The Divine Life Society, Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy, and author of over 200 books on yoga, vedanta and a variety of other subjects.

Are you implying I'm in denial other voters are vengeful and vote based on the photographer as opposed to the photo? Or are you implying I'm vengeful when it comes to voting?
I still stand behind my comment from above:

I'm implying your very low average vote cast matters to you, even if you are in denial about the karmic justice boomerang. |

I think I'm going to test this karma thing out.
The next three challenges I'm going to vote:
Below Average Photo: 8
Average Photo: 9
Above Average: 10
After that I should be expecting my first blue

Then someone who NEVER votes...
would always score a 0 here.
Wow... Your theory has a big hole in it and is bleeding all over the carpet.
Quite frankly, I think the people who score higher would have a lower vote given average... because they are good are making great photos, they should also be good judges of the photos here... and if they are honest, they would score the bad ones and the good ones accordingly.
If I get a nice comment and even a score cited, I look at the persons history. If they've ribboned a zillion times, then the comment and score (good or bad) means a heck of a lot more to me.
If their average is low, but I know they just gave me a great score (6+), then I am honored and they must have seen something in my shot. Likewise if it's bad, I assess they are a Simon Cowell who is "being honest" even if it hurts... and that is good feedback to have.
Mom will always tell you your work is good. Getting told that by someone who knows and has proven themselves at is far better.
