So the time has come... I am starting to get asked to do some Senior Shots, plus some family Portraits. Now the question remains... WHAT DO I DO!!!?

Currently, my lens list consists of a 28-135 IS USM, a 50mm, the trash kit lens, and a horrible 100-300 quantaray. I have no official lighting to use, not even a flash (cept the trashy on board). So should I go out and purchase some lighting? I'd like to do more portraiture and make it my focus. SO CONFUSED. Any help appreciated =)

the 50mm is wonderful for portraits.

I found that I do my best portrait work outdoors.. on a bright but overcast day. You get some really nice, soft tones that way, and you don't need anything more than a 50mm lens, although I generally use my 70-300mm in the 70 - 100mm range.
That's about all the help *I* can give you, because I'm clueless when it comes to indoor lighting. All my attempts at indoor portraits have turned out *horrid*.

I do portrait work...both indoors and out... ALL with available lighting. No flashes, no strobes (EEKK!) or anything like that.

I prefer indoor lighting, to outdoor lighting. I just tell my clients to give me a window, and I will be fine. :) I pretty much use my 50mm exclusively.
