I have the opportunity to purchase a new ipad (current model) second hand (unwanted xmas gift - has the box and a new cover and screen protector - unused). Problem is, no receipts.

Can this be registered on the apple site for warranty without receipts?

It seems to me that something does not add up....someone must have the receipt. In most cases, Apple receipts can be retrieved online by the person that purchased the item as long as they have an Apple account.

Seller advises no receipts. Do you need the receipts to register it online? It's a good purchase price but not if it doesn't have at least the first 12 months warranty. The cost of a repair would be ridiculous and offset the good price. Not sure if I should purchase or not without receipts. Hmmmm

Are ipads known to break down often??

If it sounds too good, it usually is....I would walk away.

You don't need a receipt to register an iPad, but you will if you want to get the warranty.
