I see Amazon has a 5dii for $1530 less 2% credit back after a month, less another 3% since I use the amazon credit card and the deal killer $2 of free mp3 downloads :-) B&H is a bit above that price. I also saw the Canon refurbs are back with 20% off and that's $1400 something [IMO not close enough to do instead of new].

I hummed and hared [it's a crap load of $$] and finally pulled the trigger last night.... So will be 35mm full frame again after 8 years - sorry about the bragging but I figured I might corrupt others on the fence :-)!! It should be delivered Monday evening - nothing like cutting it close for a xmas present :-)

Would I prefer the Mk3 yeah for sure.... but one day when the rest of the world is on the mk6 maybe :-).

Now you'll need a new wide angle lens...

I hope so.... It's a lot of dosh and I'm still ticking about spending that much on a luxury item but I'm stoked to get back to FF because I love the narrow dof for portraits and while I have some great images there is just something missing with the crop that is hard to define.

Yeah, I picked up a 17-40 recently because I have been looking to make the move. I'm going to keep the 7D but will let the 10-22 go to a new home once I play around with the 5d and the 17-40 to recoup the cost of the 17-40.

Is it wrong to stalk the brown trucks?

Love love my 5D2! Wish I never sold my 17-40, that combo is killer!

FYI add tax to canon price so its about right where you paid.

i was out shooting today for the expert challenge. i got home and every time i forget how stunning the images look. the back lcd does the field images no justice.

This shot (with the 17-40L) made me SO glad I finally got some L glass for my 5D MK2, and it netted me $300 to boot!

Ugh, so tempting.
I wonder if I can use an old p&s to get a canon loyalty discount on the refurb.

Did I mention you get $2 worth of MP3 downloads? Does that get you over the line? :-)

I THINK you can use a P&S for an slr as I have heard people type that on forums around the place.... although as Mike says, there is tax on that Canon refurb site for some of us (although some of us have use tax that in theory should be reported)....
