I find a lot of posts looking for member equipment ( my own included) and as part of the whole "giving back" thing, want to review some of the equipment i own. As i understand it, DPC doesn't currently allow for this. Rather than just post a thread with review of equipment i have over the course of time, i wanted to know if someone would know of a better method/ willing to build it. Since i m searching for hosting space for my soon to be portfolio website anyway,i might be willing to donate some hosting bandwidth along with a bit of time if some ambitious folks out there want to build some sort of a review space that dpc members can use.

I think the idea is a bit overambitious and would require someone with experience in building such things and maybe even DPC council approval if they want to incorporate it into DPC. The better solution would probably be that DPC allows for a review section directly. Still, If some folks want to sit down and tally up exactly what we'd need, i'd be game to enter discussion and try to figure out if we can.

To clarify: this would ideally be a means for all DPC members to post their opinions/reviews on specific gear that they own.

there are so many great review sites out there i feel this is a bit pointless and if anyone wants feed back on a piece of equipment, a question in the forum is more community orientated than an off site hosted review by 1 person..... and more likely to get an honest overall opinion than 1 review

I get where you're coming from, but to clarify: the idea is that Everyone on DPC would be able to post a review. I'll put this in the main post so its clear. If it were just a matter of me posting reviews, then a thread would suffice i think.

You're right that there are plenty of detailed review sites out there, i am hoping to make this a community point of view review database of sorts. Meaning, despite all the review sites out there - look at a couple threads in this section and you find questions regarding pros and cons of all sorts of equipment. That's what i m hoping to help with.
