Inspired by the conversations going on in the Flower Power thread it occurs to me that there are those stories we
all have, not necessarily to do with border crossings, that are worth retelling.

I'll start with this one that happened on Federal land...(the San Francisco Presidio, because I know you'll ask.)

So, the speed limit was 30, I was doing 40ish while on my way to the Golden Gate Bridge with a
very feisty, little-old-lady type person in the passenger's seat. Stopped by a Federal officer doing his day of
enforcement duty, I admitted my sin, and having never had a "Federal Ticket" before, asked him,
"How much?" He replied $75. (This was a while back) Pipes up my ancient companion, "That's too much!"
I looked at him, he looked at me, I shrugged and signed the ticket. Sometimes it's best to just
shut up.

Can you top that story? Sure you can.
