I've read a bit about this but haven't actually found anyone who has done it. Just wondering if it's worth the time to do. thanks

What do you mean? Whats the 300/310 and what upgrade are you talking about? |

Probably means the firmware (hacked) upgrade.
Works wonderfully. Adds lots of practical features such as FEC and mirror lockup. Many other great additions.

There some computer guru's that devised ms-dos code to change the eos 300d(rebel) back to its' superior counterpart (10D) well some things anyway see below:

They have not managed to make the selectable AI servo mode function properly yet. As far as I've read, they're still working on it. I hope.
