I took some pictures with Canon 20D with 10-22mm and 12-24mm, you can see them at the bottom of this page (a lot of traffic, slow..):

Thanks mate. Are you using the sigma 12-24? Is it any good? I'm looking for a lens 14 mm or 12-24 from sigma for landscape photography (for my analog Canon camera, no digital yet) |

I own the 12-24mm, and I tried to compere it to the 10-22mm from canon.

Wow. I didn't know the 20D and the new EF-S lenses could be bought yet.
As I've got a 10D, the 10-22mm is out for me, but I'm interested to see how the sigma 12-24mm stacks up to it. That's probably my next lens purchase. |

This is pre-production lens & camera, but my first impression is very good. I've already pre-ordered the camera, and I'm selling my Sigma 12-24mm lens. The 10-22mm is sharp and has little distortion.
Sorry about the lag on my site, but for the last hour it's been flooded with requests, should be better soon.

The main things the 20D has going for it, as far as I can see, are the EF-S compatability, the higher frame rate (along with ability to take more burst photos), and the better AF system.
I'm not terribly interested in the higher resolution.
I'm disappointed to hear that the Sigma lags so far behind the Canon. That Sigma is our only affordable wide-angle option. |

this is great if even if you have to wait :P:D
how in the world did you get your hands on these?!?!?!?!
the 10-22 seem to really out perform the 12-24 especially when
it comes to distortion |

Damn ... 1500 US I assume .. A girl can always dream - to have it maybe in 2 years!! :(
I think that totally sucks. I want a 10D .. but I guess they have stopped producing them now so I'm sure they won't be readily available, plus I don't like buying used equipment. So maybe if the 10D was still available it would be affordable with the release of the 20D :( |

Come on, go for the gold... get the 20D. You know you want it... It's only money. :-)
(I keep doing that to a coworker of mine ... he just walked out ... heading over to the local Inkley's to find out when they will have one in stock)

Johanna, the 10D is still available, you can get it for a lot less than the 20D. It is still a very capable camera.

Seems OK, but has pretty bad chromatic abberation at the edges! Barrel/pincushion distortion seems low though, which is good. I think I'm still going to buy one though, because there's not much out there in competition... I want those extra mm!

Sonja - I got on and also saw all galleries. Just scroll down to the bottom and you'll begin to see the shot from the lens he talks about.
