it could be as good or better than the Halloween challenge.

I'm with ya'.

I'd love to be able to do some compositing on this one... I have some good ideas that would be hard to implement without "a little extra freedom."

Take a look at What is the Matrix? (Challenge 99) for some possible inspiration. People pulled off some amazing compositions that were completely within the editing rules.

True, true.

The halloween shots are really impressive, though, and when you're dealing with mythical creatures, it can be nice to take it even farther outside the box, but I can understand the point.

Thanks for the link, it's giving some interesting ideas for how to beat the problem.

I'd personally rather not go with any loosened rules ... of course it would create for some awesome entries .. but I think its also a gateway for some dooozies as well =/ I dunno ... I just personally prefer minimal photoshop work.

If you followed any of the editing debates last November and in the December 'trial period', you should know that I agree with you totally, however, some subjects (Halloween, Fairy Tales) beg for different treatment!

I guess .. heavily ps'd is okay for me as long as the picture looks legit, and doesn't scream "I WAS PHOTOSHOPPED"
