Less than 48 hours and under 100 entries in the free study.

I'm still narrowing it down. :)
They usually come pouring in the last 2 days.
Plus, people forget there's only 30 days in November. :)

I'm just used to seeing more by now.
I have mine entered. it'll probably fail miserably... but, who cares. I like it.

I might withdraw my entry only because I hate seeing lifeless landscapes finish ahead of hard to capture street photography. It really irks me. |

While that may be the norm, Chris, it is not a defacto rule. Street photos, portraiture, monochrome, and images from other genres have taken top honors in the past. They just happened to be outstanding examples of their genre. |

Don't pull it. mine isn't the "norm" free study photo either. some people will realize it's mine the minute they see it.
but it does get old seeing landscape after landscape after landscape after landscape...
you get the point. |

I also can't come up with a good title. That really bothers me. |

I just saw this and realized it is the end of the month. And I haven't taken anything FS worthy at all. But, I have plans for tomorrow morning, so I might have something ready by tomorrow night. |

I just looked through the very sparse set of images I captured this month and was actually surprised that I had even one image taken this month that would be suitable. That one shot should do just fine.... |

There's only a little hyperbole in your landscape depiction, but that's cool. The time of day and temperature is irrelevant.
I meant hard as in the majority of people can't stand two feet away from a stranger and take their photo while they're looking right at the camera and still getting something worthwhile to look at. |

Or, alternatively, it is a challenge to create an outstanding image in ANY style. |

Funny thing that...I feel the same way about photographs of birds taken in the wild, which are ever so difficult to capture... yet they routinely end up way behind the others.

hmm, so we are supposed to base our scores on how difficult it is to capture rather than if it looks good? |

Apparently some of us do easy stuff and some of us do hard stuff, and the easy stuff should have an automatic easy penalty applied to it because, well... it's so much EASIER than the hard stuff, which, because it's so hard to capture, deserves a handicap so it can compete with the easy to capture stuff, which is .... oh, never mind...
See, as a landscape photographer I've come to realize I'm at a great disadvantage (wait, do I hear howls of laughter? C'mon people, hear me out!) because I don't have any waterfalls, I don't have any mountains, I don't have any cliffs, I have nothing but LOTS of ocean and, for part of the year, interesting boats. And marshes, but they're FLAT, see, and they're not like WENDY'S marshes, which teem with photogenic birds (she has it SO easy!)... Anyway, it's THOSE guys, the mountains-and-waterfall guys, that really have it easy. Don't you think? Oh, never mind...
I'd go take a picture if it wasn't raining. Maybe I should go take a picture anyway. In the rain... That's the ticket... That can't be easy, can it? Anyway, I'm not home. I'm in Californioa. In the rain... Sigh... Life's never easy, is it? Except when it is :-) |
