I used to have the buZZ Simplify filter and managed to find a way to use it up through my latest computer upgrade, but can't even load it anymore. I used it seldom but when it was "right" for the job, I loved it. I own Topaz Adjust which has a simplify preset in it - not at all the same. There is also a Topaz Simplify plug-in and it's on sale today and this weekend (along with all the Topaz products) for half price. Is anyone familiar with both the old buZZ filter and the Topaz plug-in? Can you tell me how they compare?
Finally, I also purchased the Nik suite recently but have not fully explored it. Is there anything in there that would be similar?
 TIA

There is a link at this site that claims to simulate the Buzz simplifier. As I haven't used Buzz(or even heard of it before), I cannot say whether it will do what you want.

I have downloaded it to try out, but I have been unable to find the right place for it in Photoshop CS5. I have got it working in Elements 7, however. I've had the same problem with other filters I've downloaded and I really wish I knew what I was doing wrong. |

ps cs5/plugins/filters <--- paste in there

just d/l, put it there and tested... works

I have both plugins. I still think the old Buzz was better, but Topaz is pretty good too and has more settings and flexibility.

I haven't used mine in a while. But I just reinstalled it to try again next time I'm in PS. |

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just can't get it to show there. I can't really spare the time right now, but maybe I'll work it out later. I just know I've had the same problem with Virtual Photographer and a few other filters, though I got Nik and Topaz working without any problems.

I used to use Virtual Photographer all the time, but I can't be bothered to open Elements specially. |

		| Make sure you are installing it to the 32 bit plugin folder. It won't work in the 64 bit version of PS. |

I feel really stupid. I've tried it both places and it refuses to work. And I really can't spare any more time on it right now. |
