Starting off about as expected 5 even after 5 votes. Good thing I wasn't expecting much from this one.

Havent entered but busy slowly getting back in to DPC by way of voting and seeing other's creative minds at work. This challenge in no way disapointing and some really nice creative shots. Will comment later. Cant remembered when last my average vote I handed out was above 6 |

Cool, my lowest score ever. Now, if it could only stay there. This is much more interesting than a meh score.

After a morning of reflection, I now feel that I probably should have included a triangle somewhere in my photo.

Just as a refresher for those who may be 'forgetting' the voting rules
YOU MAY NOT:
give an entry a lower score because you believe it violates the Challenge Rules.
recommend an entry for disqualification for not meeting the challenge.
vote on an entry based on its server-generated thumbnail.
vote on your own entry.
vote in a manner that suggests an intent to disrupt the voting system.
offer or cast biased votes for any other user.
offer slanderous, rude, profane or inflammatory comments.
abuse the anonymous commenting feature in any way.
discuss any entry in the forums while voting is in progress.
hold more than one DPChallenge account.
vote from another userĂ¢€™s DPChallenge account.
attempt to alter the point totals for any entry in any way.

Surely you must mean "obvious triangle" :D
Personally I am enjoying looking for the subtle ones :) |

Please elobarate on your explanation of this rule.
because this can he construed so many ways, I'd like to know others opinions on this rule.
if it doesn't "fit" the challenge description, does that mean it voilates challenge rules?
and if so... we aren't supposed to low vote?
so... for example, IF a photograph doesn't include a triangle, it wouldn't fit challenge description, and therefore violates challenge rules. correct?
and if that's the case, we can't low vote just because it violates challenge rules (ie, doesn't include a triangle). ?
BTW: I haven't looked at the challenge entries... so there's no PARTICULAR IMAGE or GROUP OF IMAGES I'm referring to, for the record.
just curious about the rule bolded.

Getting creamed now. I knew it wasn't a killer shot, but didn't think it was this bad. Oh, well, the DPC collective is a finicky beast.

She is referring to the idea that if a voter believes that a photo violated the Editing Rules, they might give it a lower score. Voters are obligated (required) to assume all images follow the Editing Rules Set. If the voter is unsure, they are requested to click on the box at the bottom of the image to challenge the entry. BUT, the voter should still vote as if the entry met the challenge rules.

Had something written up about a personal experience/observation but decided against it. Simply put, don't penalize an entry if you think it failed to follow the editing rules - that is for SC to decide.
Bassbone said it far better than I did:-)
