I have a Canon Powershot SD990IS 14.7MP Digital Camera with 3.7x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom, and I love this camera. I only paid $400 brand new. Well the screen no longer works. It got damaged during a flight. When I turn it on you can see that the screen is shattered on the inside. I can still use the camera but only if I use the viewfinder which leaves out all of the other camera features. For some reason a brand new one now costs $699.
Does anyone know how much it costs to fix something like this? I called some camera shops and geek squad but they all said they would have to ship it out and then tell me which means I would have to pay for them to inspect it. I was just wondering if anyone has had something like this done before. Thank you. |

//www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/consumer_repair
You can request a repair quote direct from canon and save any possible third party handling charges.

It said $116 which includes shipping. I also researched other forums and they said they got theirs fixed for about $130. Way better than buying a new one! Thanks again! and I get it back within 7 days! |
