Please let me know what you think of it.

It looks appealing because the composition uses the rule of thirds. The contrast is great in showing off the different textures. The rough surface of the wall with the smooth texture of the metal light cover. Keeping the color on the light cover also helps to bring your eyes to it. The position of the bold shadow also attracts your eyes toward the light cover.Plus the cover is a circular design making it contrast with the crop.

thanks for the reply. i was afraid the crop might be too tight. the metal cover was a little rusty, so i killed all colors except for cyan and blues to make the concrete wall and metal cover more monochrome. played with levels, a little shadow/highlight to bring some more to detail the deep shadow, and some sharpening.

Nice details, great industrial art. I wonder how the original metal cover (rusted?) looks like.

I'm curious to see the original also.

Here's the original file straight from the camera resized with bicubic sharper:

I forgot that I straightened it slightly.

The edited version is much better! The photograph as a whole is not so interesting for me (subject matter wise).

Works realy well as wallpaper! By itself i don't like the shadow and it's kinda uninteresting.
