Make your own when your camera needs a large patch instead of kind of spot-whitebalancing. Use any editor to make and print A5 sized papers of a few colours. Or buy some colored paper in a shop.
Dont overdo the colors, faint tints often gets reasonable results. When I used marine-blue (very dark), my picture had only orange tones. But a very soft blue gave warm sunset/ sunrise tones.

I printed the card roughly 3/4 the size of an 8 x 10 sheet. I think that might help. I can easily use it at arm's length (autofocus square covers the coloured square I want to use).

You could also go to the local paint store and snag some of the paint sample chip cards. They fit great in a pocket of a camera bag and are always there when you want them, plus...they are free, and just the right size. |
