How would this have faired?

Hi Lee,
I actually like this a lot. There is an element of distraction
in some of the background, and it could be a "tad" sharper, but
this works well in B & W in my opinion.

I like this shot,
but it prob wouldn't do that great in Botany cuz theres like 250 flowers to choose from - 7

Would you suggest a Gaussian Blur in the background?
My intent was to focus on the fuzze things (don't know what they're called) on the flower but the ambient lighting woujldn't allow high enough contrast.

i think the sharpness on the main flower can be a little sharper and maybe a slight gaussian blur on the background flowers. The contrasts and levels are good. I would have given an 8 or 9
