This is the wide view

Here's the GigaPan view. After it loads, click on a snapshot to get an idea of how wicked this is.

144 images shot with a 70-200 (36 across, 4 rows), then stitched together.

here's another GigaPan Stitch. due to some equipment issues, i had to shoot this one hand-held. it's two rows of 15 images, shot on a 7D with a 50mm.

click the image to see the full image, then click the snapshots below the main image to zoom in.

Pretty cool! When you zoom in on the guy with the red coat in the second shot, you have a floating head and a half missing head.

0.06 gigapixels...which is relatively smallish in the GigaPan world :D

unfortunately, there's a fair amount of that in this one, primarily due to shooting it hand-held.

this is INSANE!!
unlike the previous hand-held pano, this one was shot with the GigaPan with my 70-200 mounted and zoomed all the way out to 200mm. This was more of a proof of concept shot than anything else, as I didn't have time to manage every shot. The resulting image is a collection of 344 images (8 rows of 43 columns) that took nearly 30 minutes to capture. The processing took about 6 hours and still could use some work. All the same, I think I finally have a handle on what's involved in using this tool. Click the image below to visit the full-blown image, then click the snapshots below the image to see the detail...

and, btw, this gigapan weighs in a 1.16 gigapixels! (so you might have to be patient and give it time to load...)
in other words, the linked gigapan, if printed out, would be 43 feet wide and 8 feet tall...at 300dpi!!!

i can't wait to turn this on something a little more interesting ;-)
