I read recently that the new Tim Burton stop motion film Paranorman was shot with Canon 5D Mark IIs

And a little video

Plus they made all the faces and the like on a 3D printer. getting an old fashioned look with some cool modern toys. I love this geeky stuff.

They even made the animators shoot at the full 21 MP even though the final movie uses frames that are about 2 MP. It made the disk storage very stressed.

I also can't help but give credit where it's due. It was directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell. Tim Burton didn't work on this one, but he does tend to have a soft spot for stop motion.
