I have thoroughly hashed my monitor trying to get my colors and prints to come out right.

I see outpost.com has Spyder Pro for $129.00 after a 30.00 mail in rebate.

Outpost.com Spyder Pro w/Optical

Is this a good deal?
Does Sypder work on LCD's? (I've read reviews that it didn't do a good job on an LCD).

I have a Samsung 192N and I have totally screwed it up with the included MagicTune and the Natural Color software. Maybe I'm just going blind with all the squinting you have to do to calibrate using the software method.

If this is a good tool, I would just drop in Fry's tomorrow and pick one up.

Thanx in Advance.
Andy

Ed: That would be Spyder Pro in the Title.

It says it does LCD, and I would not see why it shouldn't. I have an iOne and use it on the 20" Apple Cinema LCD, and it works perfectly and everything looks great. WHere did you see the "reviews?" Was it one? two? all of em? Or just one disgruntled buyer? I would read and study up on it more. By the way Amazon, etc sell it for $229!!

I know the older entry-level Spyder was not compatible with LCD monitors, but now even their basic unit sez it is compatible. The Spyder Pro is $249 on Colorvision's own site, so this is a fantastic price. I may have to go for it myself!

Spyder with Optical was unable to correct the gamma or color on my Dell 5100 Laptop LCD. It did do a fantastic job, however, on my Dell 19" LCD Standalone monitor at home. At that price it's definitely a good investment. If you do get it though, check the return policy at Outpost.com. I'm personally glad I bought mine through Amazon because I had to return it.

I have the Spyder and it calibrated my Apple 17" Studio and my 17" PowerBook displays without a problem. Now when I print to my i950 is a different story altogether. But, the Spyder is very simple to use and is quick. While at the Epson Print Academy, most people including Vincent Versace, use the Gretag Macbeth calibrator because they say it is more accurate. I might switch to that when I turn Professional Amateur but right now I can't tell a difference so I'm sticking with my Spyder. BTW, the Spyder comes with two baffles:one for LCD and one for CRT. Hope that helps!

My colors are all off and just looks odd. My Epson is even worse and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I thought going to the Print Academy would help solve the problems but it didn't but I did learn a great deal. One day I'll get my prints right. :)
