I'll take a slightly different tack and say there is no sense of propriety these days. Just because we can do something doesn't mean we should. The fact that the general consensus on the thread is that it's Kate's fault for "not knowing better" saddens me a little. They seem to be a normal couple doing normal things and that doesn't mean they want their picture plastered on newspapers. And while there is a quirky societal norm that being topless on a beach is no big deal while being pictured topless is, it's understandable. Nobody goes to the mall in a bikini even if they are completely comfortable in it on the beach. Suddenly you would feel very exposed and naked.

I'm not of the opinion "there should be laws" because that would be impossible, but I do cringe that the almighty dollar (or pound or franc) rules all the decisions we make and not our empathy for another human.

I agree with you, but this is the world we live in.

she knew what she was getting into when she married into this family, her life is now public, if she wants private time she needs to go out of her way to get it and take measures to ensure it, just like any other celebrity who uses the press to their advantage.

you cant have it both ways, if you want a private life, dont indulge in the public lifestyle.

This is all true, but only because we make it so. I think every time we affirm this we make it that much more true when it doesn't need to be that way (and it hasn't always been that way). i try not to pay attention to much of it, but its hard to resist the opportunity to see boobs.

Seeing my future queen topless doesn't change my thoughts about her (if anything it probably enhances them - and no, not in that way!). So she has boobs - great! Thank you Mrs Paparazzi for confirming my already held belief that she is a human being... whoop de doo... next...

(same goes for the Harry photos btw - if you havent danced naked round a pool table once in your life - or something similar - you havent lived - why should celebrity / royals be expected to be any different?)

I always appreciate the "whoop-de-doo" attitude, but only if accompanied by a topless picture of them (if female), their wife, or their girlfriend. It doesn't seem to have the necessary authenticity otherwise...

Yeah, convincing my wife is a topic for a different thread. She'd rather I shoot strangers or friends over her. So I keep her happy and oblige.
