If I wait until next summer to buy an om-d em5 do you think that
1. The price will be lower
and/or
2. there will be an upgrade to the current camera

I think the only two things that are for certain with bodies.... 1) It will be cheaper in a while then it is now and 2) The camera you don't own is not much use to you :-) |

Go on this website...great group of micro 4/3rd users....you can ask questions in the forums and they are very friendly and eager to answer. I have learned much from them when it comes to micro 4/3rds. //www.mu-43.com/index.php?pageid=active

If you wait till next summer I think the price will be lower, and there will probably be an upgrade. I believe I heard everyone discussing a more pro level OMD EM5 will be out, and it will command a pro price too. Panasonic is getting ready to release a GH3 now, and it will be really nice. Both the GH2 and the OMD EM5 were difficult to find for a long time.
I think the best camera is the one in your hand!! I've never been good at waiting when I want something... |

Yeah, I have problems waiting too :-) However, my husband doesn't have much work lined up so I HAVE to wait. I've sold off a lot of things in order to get into the m43 format and I'm not willing to sell anything else. I opted for some nice glass over the body and got the epm-1 refurbished for pretty cheap.
I'm going to save up for the om-d. One way or another... I have aquarium stuff to sell off but it won't cover the full price.
I just get a little frustrated with epm-1 and having to dig into the menu to get things changed up. |
