Well the rain is almost here. The wind has been here since 8 this morning....They say that south La has received more rain than Katrina. So we'll see how it goes.

It only got to a Cat 1, but it stalled and just continued to pound the coast. It's now back down to a tropical depression. |

So basically a pounded surf and buckets of rain...have the levies been repaired yet...I have a friend wking on them he's been there for a few years now but I don't think they r done yet |

From what I understand the levees that are the responsibility of the Army Corps of Engineers are holding fine. One Parish levee broke in Plaqamine (sp) Parish. The pumps in New Orleans are also working. |

A friend of mine in Gulfport, MS has been posting pictures on Facebook and the MS coast is taking a pounding also. |

The levees are holding but the rains have just arrived...I am in North La this thing stretches all the way to the gulf. Currently it is still sucking up moisture from the gulf. I am in Monroe ...They are forecasting 18+ hours of rain. I don't know if the bayous / rivers can handle that amount of water....I have my waders out just in case
