Short video on The Invisible Bike Helmet. I'd buy one!

I'd be so scared that it would blow up on me if I bend over to check my shoelaces or something. Lol. |

Fantastic! Reminds me of this show I saw the other day "Prototype This!" where they prototyped a wearable airbag system for construction workers who fall off buildings.
I am thinking a small version of that invisible helmet could be attached to your DSLR and/or your $3k lens. ;-) |

Maybe you could even alter Art's prototype for the sports photog on the sidelines of the football game. As he gets mauled by the 250 pound RB he and his $6000 400mm f/2.8 lens are gently cocooned by 32 airbags. |

$600 and you lose it as soon as you fall over and scrape your knee. I think it will be a tough sell over traditional helmets. |

I was thinking for the camera model you could use the little CO2 bottles and repack. Some of us are more clumsy than others. |

my boss was driving to work one day, he was sitting at a red light.
BOOM!
the airbag blew out.
no collision, just exploded out while he was stopped.
i think I'll keep my normal helmet. |

Interesting idea, though I'm not so hung up on appearances that I would feel any need to use it. Actually, I think having that big collar around my neck would bother me more. Perhaps someday if the airbag technology proves superior to conventional helmets.
