| I always "save for web" in photoshop for my submissions but it always seems as those im ticking down the size little by little untill im under 300kb. What is the best way to save a photo for submission while maintaining quality? Maybe its by saving in a different program? Im all ears.... |

i use lightroom. export to jpg, 800px long side, 300k max, sharpen for web.
it doesn't get much easier.

Do you leave the sharpening choice up to software? I would have thought you would want more control.
For advanced editing I do a series of resizing and sharpening based loosly on Adamus with masks till I get to 800 pix, then I save for Web with 300kb max.
(I dont use Lightroom so if I'm interpreting it incorrectly sorry :-) ) |

i can apply sharpening to my image in the program, but on export, lightroom gives three options: sharpen for matte, glossy, or web (which is actually "screen") now that i think about it.
i just let the software do it, i have never had any issues. |
