Just got done voting for the Landscape entries, and I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable collections I've browsed through since I joined the site in August! I don't know if I've ever given as many 8-10s before.

Personally I have been rather uninspired these past few weeks. I keep submitting shots, mainly for the sake of being able to say I've participated in every challenge since joining... but they certainly haven't been my most inspired works. I find it really hard to submit at this time of the year, since I'm working the whole time it's daylight, and weekends are filled up with all sorts of other stuff (although, now that the Steelers blew it, my weekends are a bit more free!).

Looking through the Landscape shots, I felt as though I was transported around the world on an incredible tour! I can't believe how many people on this site are so lucky to live in such picturesque places! Thanks for these refreshing shots -- these were a LOT of fun to view. Perhaps it'll help recharge my creative battery a bit :)

Extremely well put Alan. I am only half way through the voting and have given about 5 10s already. My shot is the best I have ever done and I'm so proud of it but I'm only a very low 6. I think we have been all around the world and I am really enjoying the ride.

LOL yeah, that does sound pretty bad but I'm just being honest -- it's the best photo I have ever taken and I've placed before so I figured.....
wrong.

oh it did not sound too bad .. When I did a 6.3 or something, my pick, 5.7 looked low .. now I am this week at 5.45 in landscape I would like it a lot .. all is relative and perspectice !
By the way I like your seatle shot, gave it a 8 I thought it would have done better (well .. 21 is a dream for a lot of people !!!!)

6.0 is NOT bad. The highest I've EVER gotten is a 6.0, and I have placed in the 20's.

OK, I'm not complaining anymore -- until after the voting. This thread was started by Alan to acknowledge just how wonderful all of the entries are this week and the fun it is to visit the landscapes all around the world. I apologize for sending it off on a tangent. I have been trying to figure out the location of some of the landscapes and it will be fun to find out where they were really shot.

It has been great to view these shots from around the world. It IS like a tour. It sure would be nice to REALLY get to see these places, so that we could attempt to take our own pictures of these exotic locations. I think the average scores will be much higher this week, as most of the pics are excellent. Very few low scores. I'm very happy about my score, but I'm sure my 6.4 won't go as far as it would have in any other challenge.

CONGRATULATIONS TO US ALL FOR THESE AMAZING PICTURES !!!

Heh... that's another reason I have so little time, actually. I am the webmaster for the official Groundhog Day-related sites, and silly as it may seem, they all get TONS and TONS of traffic at this time of the year. And I get TONS and TONS of e-mails related to everything related to groundhogs :)

In case anyone's interested...
