That's EXACTLY what I was thinking as soon as I saw the photo: If I had to work a gig like this (and I am not saying I would), I would not be wearing sneakers, no socks, and shorts. I probably would not be standing right on the same floor as them, perhaps on an elevated stand or ladder that was stable and rigged so I wouldn't fall. But if I did have to stand on the floor with them, I'd probably be wearing heavy rubber waders, with layers under them so I didn't even have to worry about the snakes getting near me.

I don't think any responsible snake handlers would allow a guy to go stand in and amongst such snakes dressed that way, unless they were defanged/de-venomed and they knew there was no real risk.

Or, this guy is dumb as a bag of rocks, and luckier than all the lottery winners in history, combined.

It's entirely plausible there naysayers. The animal's fangs aren't enormous, and I don't know about you, but I rarely pay attention to minor aches and pains when I'm trying for a shot that requires some concentration. The snake could easily bite and be back to a normal position during the closing/opening of the shutter. Many venomous snakes dry-bite, it's not uncommon.

What is truly unlikely here is that all of these things came together at once, in front of a camera...but I certainly wouldn't say "impossible."

Heap id would have had my stiff leather work boots on with some heavy combat trousers tucked in

How did he he get the picture? If he had the camera rd his neck it would be unlikely to be sitting point down and then why'd it fire?

Definetly publicity stunt, I wear shorts alot for work even today and it's 11 degrees Celsius here foggy and raining, I'm on a field and I can feel grass touch my legs and this guy didn't feel a snake even if it gave him a kiss he'd have felt it.

Well the Daily Mail often has some pretty outlandish stories.

Implausibility aside... what about that horrendous headshot at the end? It's like a badly photoshop cell phone photo from 10 years....
