Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

I would love to occasionally play with Fractalius, but since that would only happen once in a blue moon, I can't justify $40.

I don't want to steal it, either, but would love to find a cheaper alternative.

Does anyone know of any open source software or even knock-off versions?

Adobe has pixal bender - a free plugin which has some powerful fractal effects.

You might like to have a look at G'MIC //gmic.sourceforge.net/ which had a filter written to create Fractalius like effects: //gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2688

Oh yes... I vaguely remember hearing about that. Does it look really similar to fractalius?
