I wrestled with mine again this week...since I finished 6th I think made the right decision, but I also really would have liked to submit this guy. I think I would have named it 'Here Comes The Rain Again' (Eurythmics) but not sure. This was taken as the ferry got closer...

MY OWN SONG OUTTAKE ..

I posted "Send Me an Angel" in the challenge and finished 23rd.

Would this "Tequila" have done better?

:)

Mag, thats a great shot. Would be killer if you had painted the label with light so you could read it....super slick though!

scab, coming from you that is a high compliment:).

you're absolutely right, the label isnt legible enough. initially i thought i wanted it darker but after i shot it i thought i should have used a bounce card or another light ..

thanks for looking

Here is a song out take from me:
Penny Lane

hey Jamie, I love that song :) ..

So, what was the lighting like when you took that? The reason I ask is that the sign is so bright but the wall and sign posts are so dark. Is that wall much darker in real life than the sign?

Also, there's some interesting optical curvature there, which is odd since the EXIF says you're not shooting at full wide angle.

The wall that the sign is against is actually curved and the sign is near the apex of the curve. It was a nicer background than the railings behind the sign across the road. The other end of penny lane doesn't have street signs.

I had a play with the levels after converting it to b&w. In the original, the sign wasn't that clean and bright. The wall is a dark reddish stone.

It was a sunny day when the picture was taken, but the sign was in shade.
