I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed with this score. Not because it's so low (that no longer bothers me), it is because it has be rising. I would have loved this shot as my lowest score.

+1 I experimented with probably a half-dozen different techniques, ended up with a short list of 24, winnowed it down to 8 then finally, painfully, 2 and entered what I felt was the more abstract.

But what is too abstract, and what is not abstract enough?

*sigh*...

So, I too will probably steer clear of abstract challenges in the future.

Well judging by the scores this is going to be one of those challenges, I think I entered the wrong shot again, I mentioned in the discussion thread before the challenge that I would have a load to chose from and I did, and that's always a problem for me.

I must of submitted and unsubmitted half a dozen times, anyway 5.81 is not too bad I suppose.

Score's dropping like a rock, so pretty sure that's it for me and abstract challenges. But I'll still have fun with the various techniques I learned while shooting for this challenge, so it's not a total loss.

Aww don't say that. A high score isn't necessarily a good thing on an abstract challenge! At least, that's what I tell myself... :)

True. And I plan to put it on my calendar this coming year, and all the family members and friends who get it will wet themselves over how great an image it is :-)

As long as I don't get DQ'ed, it will be better than my last Abstract challenge.

Started my own voting and found a lot to like, but then I'm one of the people that actually likes abstract photography. But I had to stretch my personal definition a bit while voting.

You have rated 41 of 121 images (34%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 1 of 121 images (1%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.2927.

Looking ok myself

Sometimes you just have to look for the silver lining.

I have my scores turned off, but just checked now and noticed at 50 votes I have EXACTLY the same score I had at 1 vote :)

Day one of voting I was in the 4's so I turned things off so I could not see them. I have gotten 6 very nice comments, so I turned things back on. I am very happy with the comments.
