I know you can use the pop up flash on the Nikon D700 to remotely fire the SB-800. The issue is that I am doing a lot of outdoor location shooting in the sun so the pop up flash way of firing the speedlight doesn't work as the sun over powers the signal. A few years back I bought a Cameron Radio Flash Trigger as I was told it would fire the SB-800. Whom ever told me this would work was WRONG. The receiver has a large male end on it and the SB 800 only has a PC Sync input and some other one with 3 prongs in it. My question to everyone is this: Is there some sort of adapter out there that goes from a large male end to a small PC Sync that would work to fire my SB-800 speed light?
Here's a link to the one I have for visual reference.

Looks like a 1/4 phone plug, so one of these should get you up and going. Call/e-mail to verify, but I'm pretty sure that's what you'd need. Flashzebra has great service and I can't recommend them enough. Not sure about shipping for you, but certainly worth asking. Otherwise, most of these weird cables are super super hard to find. |

Great- hope it works out. Finding connections for all that stuff can be a real frustration, but Flash Zebra seems to have damn near whatever you need, are reasonable, and ship real quick, so if you're ever wondering about something like that, try there first. |
