basic editing serves no purpose, say it with me...

Is the idea you'll say it often enough that people will eventually start to believe it's true?

yes.

Indeed, in politics it's well-known that that's the first principle in propagating the big lie ...

So I was thinking the way one could approach this is as if you had been asked to photograph a fitting scenario to be used as an illustration for the particular story's book cover.

Oh by the way...this is something any Ray Bradbury fan would want to look through. The Ray Bradbury interviews. Gives great insights into the man, his life and his works as well as ideas for approaching this DPC Ray Bradbury challenge. Contains hundreds of illustration and photographs for his book covers and movie posters of his stories that were turned into a film. //listentotheechoes.com/

Here's an example of an illustration for his story "The Foghorn" for instance. Might be something for our DPC member who often features Godzilla in his images :)

I haven't read much Bradbury -- only a couple of things. So I searched the web and found short summaries of many of his short stories. I had a blast reading them! There's 4 in particular that I'd love to do.

Considering the number of people complaining that this is too much of a "CHALLENGE" to use BASIC, I'd say the decision is well-made to keep it that way.
Basic editing inspires in-mind and in-camera and in-life creativity. Well-suited to an era of black-n-white photography and analog special effects.

Good to see a couple of my team members agree =) sfalice spiritualspatula

Due to life stuff getting in the way (death in family-funeral etc) i've been away from DPC for the last 6 days or so. I suggested this challenge so it's slightly annoying that i haven't had any time to make a photo for it yet. I would have also liked to have done something for the Mundane challenge.

As to the ruleset debate. I'm not really that bothered that it is basic to be honest. I think that advanced or expert might have been more apt but at the end of the day i enjoy photography in whatever ruleset so it doesn't make a huge difference to me.

Right, i've got 12 hours or so to concoct an entry although that is only 5 hours of daylight and it is pouring down with rain. Rain is good though.

Apparently not much interest in this challenge... only 49 entries so far.
