| So I switched to Win7 64 bit and installed CS5, when I went to install the Nik Suite, I pointed it to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins for the install and it does not show up under the filters drop down, anyone else experience this? |

Yup. You need to physically drag the nik folder to the plug-in folder, copy it there. That'll fix ya.

Mine works just fine in 32 or 64 bit mode, but it might depend on the version. These are my paths:
32 bit location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Nik Software
64 bit location: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Nik Software

Dang, I was hoping that would be it, but there is no "enable" under preferences\plug ins
there was a check box for an additional plug in folder but even using that to point right at the nik folder does nothing. this is getting extremely frustrating, it defeats the purpose of installing 8 gig of ram to run the filters under the 32 bit version of PS
hmmm maybe it's just the version of Nik, this is from the Adobe Help Site:
Third-party plug-ins for 32-bit versions of Photoshop don't appear under the Filter menu when you run the 64-bit version of Photoshop. If it's necessary to use plug-ins that haven't been updated, run the 32-bit version of Photoshop. When you are done using the plug-ins, close the 32-bit version. Then, run the 64-bit version. Contact the plug-in manufacturer for information about any updates.

My Niks ran on the 64-bit version of CS5. I'm running CS6 now, but oddly enough I see I'm actually using the 32-bit version right now. My Niks and Topazes aren't showing up in the 64-bit, but that's no surprise, I haven't tried to enable them there yet.
