I just installed it, and I opened my harsh environment photo.
CS6's background is darker!!! My photo looks so much better in photoshop than on DPC's light grey!
So. CS6 -- you suck for making my photo look better than it will look here. :(

You can always adjust it in Edit->Preferences->Interface, if you'd miss the good old days ;) |

But I like the darker.
That's why it sucks. :)

Haven't gotten that far yet, because I never played with the previous content aware.

Hmmmm... can't get topaz to show up.
Downloaded a fresh version (hoping I know where my serial numbers are...)
The installer installs it (doesn't ask which version to put it in) and it doesn't show up.

I can fix that for you. Had the same problem. //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=1146360&highlight=cs6%20topaz
You just need to enable it from inside of Photoshop! |

what i did was take a screenshot of DPC's background, and load into ps. then i made a swatch of the color. Then right click the background in PS, and you should see a bunch of options ( grey, white etc) choose select custom color, load in DPC swatch. then right click and choose custom out of that list! |

If the photos look so much better on a darker background, then maybe DPC should make the switch?

Or you could put a dark border around it. |

No thank you!!!
I HATE viewing photos on a black background. I find it a big strain on my eyes and I can only look at a few.... afterwards I regret even looking at those few for quite a while until my eyes settle down again.
At the very least we need a choice - please don't force those extreme contrasts onto everyone. |

Thanks! Never would have thought of that, because Nik software worked perfectly fine.

I kinda like how 1X does it. You get to look at it on a dark background if you want to. |

Actually, I was kidding about cs6. But now that I'm playing with it, I'm really disliking the crop tool.

1: I think it's fantastic.
2: you can toggle the legacy tool if you prefer it, in the crop dialogue in the top bar.

The crop tool takes getting used to, if you're not used to Lightroom. Once you get used to it, you'll wonder how the hell you ever suffered with the old crop tool, LOL.

Yeah, it seems Adobe is trying to dethrone Microsoft as King of the one step forward and two backwards philosophy, beta testing on the Public. Of course, the Public has more common sense and understands form follows function much better than these geniuses who miss the obvious and have to constantly revise things it's hard to believe anyone wouldn't get to begin with. To wit: interface menu? Could they make these any smaller? I don't wear glasses and they're still unbelievably annoying to even try to read and no, there is no adjustment. The opacity only adjusts in 10% increments?? How could they have ever thought either regularly used features could be improved with less options, usability or visuality? Beyond the pale. There are a few other things I could say about CS6 but I doubt they'll get it. My computer crashed and I had CS3. I'm now trial testing CS6 - thank goodness! I will not be buying or subcribing!!! |

My cs6 trial ends tonight...thinking about paying for the upgrade (not the subscription).
Anyone know any good coupon codes good for the upgrade?

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I have a question about the crop tool.
I still have CS5 but was thinking of upgrading to CS6. After reading this thread and seeing that the crop tool has changed and is similar to LR, I opened up LR (which I never use) and tried the crop tool. I don't think I can use it, if that's what the crop tool in CS6 is like: I get vertigo very easily and was starting to get dizzy just after a few minutes, with the image moving around the way it does.
Is that what the crop in CS6 is like? |
