I just found out that the greatest race car designer passed away at age 89. I have always drooled over the shelby cobras and the ac cobra. Fine automobiles. He really was an icon in the automotive world and he will be missed

Carroll Shelby. A couple of my friends had the Shelby 'Stangs when we were in high school. He was a visionary.

Back in not quite pre-history, I was very involved in sports car driving and racing. carroll Shelby was an icon of the era and beyond.
Oh, yes, the Cobra was the talk of the circuit and the nemesis of other cars on the track.
He had an amazing lifespan, considering the driving he did and life he lived. |
