From strong desire comes the fear of not being able to accomplish, if it's too much then paranoia sets in. Just do your stuff Magaret, you sound a bit insecure, with your skills there is no need to be. we create our own realities and you created this whole thing from scratch, surely you must be able to see that now, accept it and move on, we all look forward to seeing your stuff, don't taint it with all this crap.

If PM's there be it's because of thee.
If you just accept your already great track record, don't winge on about any not so good scores (it happens to everybody) you will be looked up to with envy, instead we get an irritating vibe, that is truly difficult to digest.

Margaret - a mention in a post of some PMs does not constitute evidence for:
"There is no doubt to me that this community will do everything to stop me from realizing my goal"
or
"DPC has become run by a clique."
or
"Not an encouragement to the newcomers at all."
or
"Nor one can believe any more in the fairness of the scores."
Make a list of all those people who have been (and remain) supportive of you - look around, you are among friends.
There have been many points at which many people could have defused this whole discussion thread - some have tried (including you); but it's difficult to see how your latest posts have been constructed with the aim of calming waters (waters in which you, with us, swim).
Many of your pictures have been recognisable, some have ribboned - surely that should reassure you?
John's advice is good and comes from a caring place. I can't see how such agitation will result in harmony you would like to see.

I think that overall this thread has been very unfair on me. I have no doubt of my skills as an amateur photog. It is not about lack of self-esteem (some other DPCers suffer from that), it is about a feeling of isolation. Nobody came early on to set this thread on the course that all other threads where DPCers could expect congratulations and did get it. A pat on the shoulder, encouragement. This has been a bullying, ganging up thread. Only one person PM'd me with a positive declaration of support (thanks!). I find it very sad. I don't really care about score in the Rain, it is not me best entry. I just feel I have been let down completely. |

Kudos for that Margaret - a much better post than the previous one :)
Originally posted by MargaretN: I re-read this thread and I am actually wrong. The problem is that, for some reason, my mind was focused on the negative, not the positive. SC would have jumped all over this thread if they thought you where being unfairly spoken/bullied/intimidated/ganging up on or negative too.
Go out and do what you do best. |

Please continue with this "positive" attitude Margaret. Put the negative out of your mind and seek your goal. When you get there (soon I am sure) those of us who are around to witness will be happy to congratulate you regarding your accomplishment :) |

Well, it's 7:50am where I am, I just woke up and it's a new day. Shall we put this silly thread behind us and move on with the intention of truly attempting to support each other?
Group hug? ;)

Originally posted by MargaretN: The amount of envy and spite displayed in this thread is just unbelievable. |
For the record, you do not inspire by envy or my support. So, please do not use this post to flatter your already "unbelievable" ego. The artists that I envy the most I have a tendency to hero-worship, but most of them are gone now or only show up now and again. I miss them. For those few that remain, I'm grateful.
I'm rather a shy person but threads like this one draw out my thoughts in objection, and I understand that I'm more direct than some people's comfort zone. Oh well.
This thread got far more attention than it was worth, but the squeaky wheel always gets the oil.
So, I hope you feel well-oiled now, Margaret. |

@ hihosilver
I don't think that is at all necessary at this point. Unhelpful, counterproductive and actually quite surprising. |

Here is a picture of my knee, when I was on a 6 foot rock with Manny librodo trying to get a photo. Then someone said poison ivy, so I fell off the rock, grabbed a friends fake boob on the way down as it was sticking out and I thought i would slow my fall. Landed on my knee, saved my 200 prime and camera.
I am a crap photographer though as I did not get a picture of my knee cap showing and took it with my phone,

ok so let me get this straight....You desecrated a boob by exploding it (she will now be lopsided) you completely destroyed your knee (that had to hurt like hell) and you put your camera in harms way (even though you did save it)...all of this because someone yelled poison Ivy..
